ROWLANDS Castle Scarecrow Trail fundraiser for the village school opens on Saturday (October 2).
With a theme of Myths, Fairy Tales & Legends, this year’s trail builds on the success of last year’s inaugural event.
St John’s Primary School PTA spokesman and joint trail organiser Matt Hancock said: “We had some lovely feedback from last year’s trail, with participants enjoying a truly family-friendly event.
“So come and join in the fun this year with family and friends and discover a village full of Myths, Fairy Tales & Legends as you walk around the village spotting the wonderful scarecrow creations.”
Following the trail allows walkers to vote for their favourite scarecrows in the three categories, with the winners receiving a prize.
There is also a Guess the Myth, Fairy Tale and Legend competition with a cash prize of £100, kindly sponsored by Halls Garage.
Trail maps are available to buy from The Bumblebee Café, Rowlands Castle Home Hardware, or the Londis store, or online at www.pta-events.com/

Maps are £3 each with all the money going directly towards PTA-funded projects at the school.
