TEDDY bears, dogs, barbecue, stalls, beer tent and volunteers made this year’s Sheet Scout fete an afternoon of fun for everyone.

The dog show, with classes such as waggiest tail and favourite veteran pet, was sponsored by Purina dog food and attracted a record number of entries.

Fete organiser Jannette Upfield said: “We were lucky to have lots of volunteers for the barbecue, beer and teas, raffle, cakes, tombolas, coconut shy, giant bouncy assault course and others.

“With so many donations of teddies for the win a bear stall, I think everyone went home with at least one, and we are extremely grateful to everyone who donated.

“Without the parents who gave bottles, jars bric-a-brac, and made cakes, it would not have been such a success.

Money raised at the fete by scores of parents, friends and relatives will go towards group funds.
