THE HARROW Inn in Harrow Lane, between Sheet and Steep, organised a huge fundraiser, with cakes, tea and coffee and second hand items to buy, as well as a raffle.

Organiser Selina Garstin said: “All of us have got a reason to support the Macmillan nurses, they do a wonderful job.

“It’s fantastic that so many people turned up for coffee, we were thrilled.

“It was very busy, despite the grey start to the day.

“Something like this brings everybody together, and we raised £2,200.”

And at Sheet Primary School, in School Lane, pupils sold cakes for the cancer charity.

Gill Burford said: “Our Year 6 pupils sold the cakes and we raised £187.”
