HUNDREDS of plant lovers gathered at Gilbert White’s House for an annual event with a celebratory atmosphere this year.
It was the silver jubilee of the ever-popular Unusual Plants Fair in the gardens and grounds of the Selborne attraction with the milestone marked in style on June 17 and 18. The two-day event is the biggest date on the museum’s calendar, and enthusiasts come from far and wide to select eye-catching plants from colourful stalls.
Garden manager of Chawton House Library Andrew Bentley was one of the experts on hand giving talks and tours. “The weekend is a wonderful opportunity to enjoy the museum with the added fun of the fair,” said a spokeswoman.
