Haslemere Fringe headliner Sophie Ellis-Bextor is bringing her Christmas Kitchen Disco tour to G-Live in Guildford on December 7 next year.

The daughter of Blue Peter presenter Janet Ellis and a Strictly Come Dancing finalist in 2013, Sophie went straight to number one with her first solo single in the summer of 2000, adding vocals to Italian DJ Spiller’s track Groovejet (If This Ain’t Love).

At the height of the coronavirus lockdown, Sophie entertained over the internet by singing songs in her kitchen, and the ‘kitchen disco’ concept was born.

After her hugely successful Kitchen Disco tour earlier this year, which sold out concert halls across the country, she is now working on a festive version for 2023. Appropriately it will begin in Bexhill.

The show will feature hits from throughout Sophie’s career, which also include Murder On The Dancefloor, Take Me Home (A Girl Like Me) and Hypnotized, as well as some Christmas classics, all in her own seasonal disco style.

The final concert of this year’s tour has been released as a 24-track live album Sophie Ellis-Bextor’s Kitchen Disco: Live at the London Palladium, which also features disco classics All Night Long and Dancing Queen.

Tickets went on general sale yesterday (Wednesday), exactly one year before the Guildford concert. At the time of going to press the start time and ticket price had not been announced. For more details and to book visit glive.co.uk
