THE SPEED limit on a busy lane between two East Hampshire villages has been reduced by a third.

New signs have been installed on Lovedean Lane as the speed limit between the Bird in Hand and Downhouse Road has been cut from 60mph to 40mph.

The same cut has also come into effect on London Road between the A3 Downwood Way roundabout in Horndean and the eastern end of Drift Road in Clanfield.

The reductions, which were backed by parish councillors in both villages, were ratified by Hampshire County Council following a public consultation.
