SPRING was in full bloom at Empshott and Hawkley Horticultural Society’s Spring Flower Show.

The show took place at Hawkley Village Hall on Saturday, April 9, and attracted plenty of entries.

The doors were open to the public from 3-4pm, and there was tea and cakes and a raffle for visitors to enjoy, as well as looking at the display of entries for the show.

The main prize winner on the day was Sue Potts, who won the challenge cup for the most points overall and the rosette for the best entry in the show.

Empshott and Hawkley Horticultural Society Spring Flower Show secretary, Stella Savage, said: “Despite the uncertain weather in early spring, we received a surprising number of entries with a good show of spring flowers.

“A large variety of daffodil and tulip cultivars were entered, making the judging particularly interesting.”
