SPRING was in full bloom at the Greatham Spring Show.
The village hall was transformed with the scent and colour of spring flowers.
Many entrants struggled to find three near perfect daffodils after wind and rain, but Peter Catt, George Dance and Sid Newman produced glowing specimens.
Peter won the Sir Arundel Neave Cup, the Spring Show Cup and the best in show exhibit. Rebecca Dowling won the Nightingale Cup, Pat Slivkin won the Maggie Joyce Cup, and David Sewell and Linda Powell won the Eric Siney Shield. Emily Wallace won the award for children aged nine years old and above, and Phoebe Catt won the award for children aged eight years old and under.
The homemade cakes and cookies were popular and the atmosphere was buzzing as people met friends and compared entries. There were some good photo exhibits.
Painting, flower arrangements and handicraft classes showed some high degrees of skill, and although there were few children entries, these showed much time had been put into construction.
The summer show will be held on September 3.
