A MULTI-TALENTED musician and former Churcher’s College student, who trod the boards for Petersfield Youth Theatre (PYT), will show off his versatility to a Buriton audience this weekend.
Sam Robinson, a professional tenor now in his final year of undergraduate study at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama, will give a Spring Song Recital in St Mary’s this Sunday.
Backed by pianist, William Sharma, Sam will treat the audience to pieces from Schumann, Vaughan Williams and Butterworth along with some of his old favourite PYT songs.
He said: “I’m hoping to introduce some art songs to those who might not have heard it before. My focus while at the Guildhall has been German Lieder, just meaning German art song, but I still love to perform musical theatre.
“I’ll be performing a few favourites from the shows I did with PYT, but also hoping to raise a little money to go towards my postgraduate course.”
Sam, who has won a place on the prestigious master’s course at the Guildhall, has ambitions to become an international opera singer.
The concert will begin at 3pm while admission is free with a retiring collection.
