THIS year’s St Mary’s Church fete in Liss was a success, say organisers.

There were plenty of activities and stalls for visitors to enjoy, including soak-a-saint, books, plants, bric-a-brac, games, coffee, cakes and musical entertainment.

The Rev Chris Williams said: “It went really well, and the weather helped.

“We had lots of live music, and the church and rectory garden were open.

“Ten per cent of profits went to the Rural Refugee Network, and we gave them about £150.

“We made just over £1,500 on the day, although we are not in it for the money.

“It is a day to bring the community together.

“Quite a few sponsors donated raffle prizes, which we are grateful for.”
