FOLLOWING the success of the first Steep film festival in 2015, amature film makers are being invited to enter a new three minute film for next year’s festival.
Entry to the Steep Film Challenge 2017 is now open, and although the first festival was hailed a real success with 13 entries, event coordinator Phyllida Barnes is hoping there will be more this time around.
She said: “After the hugely successful 2015 entries for the 2017 challenge are warmly invited.”
To qualify, films should be 3 minutes long and include a view of Steep, or a part of the village, that can be easily recognised.
Phyllida added: “They can be about anything at all and can be documentary or original screenplays, and they can also be silent.
“There will be some cash prizes, including one for Best Original Soundtrack.
“The Best Documentary and Best Original Screenplay category prizes will depend on the number of entries per category.
“The 2015 films were incredibly watchable, and there was an impressive five original soundtracks.”
Judging the entries will be a variety of professional film industry insiders and keen amateurs of all ages.
At the moment no deadline for entries has been announced, but it won’t before the end of January, says Phyllida.
