PUPILS at a Steep school raised a fantastic £230 toward a total of £730 to benefit the charity, School in a Bag.
As part of the Helping Other People in Trouble (HOPIT) initiative pupils at Bedales Prep School, Dunhurst, who normally wear their own clothes to school, held a School Uniform Day.
During the day they enjoyed fun activities to raise money to send a school bag packed with everything a child needs for learning, to help orphaned and vulnerable children.
Dunhurst Head of English, Nichola Gotel said: “Our pupils were greatly moved when School in a Bag came to talk to them at assembly.
“The children chose to support the charity this school year, raising £500 at the Christmas Fair – which translated into 25 school bag kits for the charity.
“But our pupil led charity committee wanted to raise more, so they developed ideas for fun fundraising events.
“We’re planning another HOPIT event in the early part of the summer term, to provide more of the tools of education for even more children, and show our continued support for School in a Bag.”
