THERE was a sweet moment for Pat Sadler at the Froxfield and Privett Garden Club Spring Show when the judge declared her hot cross buns the best she had ever tasted.
This earned her the Dee Kiddle Cup for Cookery at the show, one of an armful of awards won by her and her husband Edward.
The couple took home not only the President’s Cup, for the most points awarded in the whole show, but the Privett Flower Show Challenge Cup for the highest score in the horticultural classes.
Overall, the number of entries was slightly down due to the recent weather conditions, but the judges were very complimentary about the high standard.
Christine Stephens had a good day, winning the Elizabeth Cawson Trophy for flower arranging for her entry in the class entitled ‘50 shades (or less) of green’, and chairman Anne Fenton walked off with the Graham Clarke Daffodil Plate.
The children’s classes had entries from Froxfield Primary School, and the Montessori and Rainbow playgroups. Tea was served by the committee.
