IT’S THE important issues first time Write Angle guest Rob Barrett likes to address.
Issues like squid, second homes, Neanderthals, the weather in Aberdeen, data-driven education, distressed furniture, Marmite and why he doesn’t want to swim with dolphins.
Find out more from this comic poet, humourist and musician who combines clever word play, verse and song with satire, parody and audience participation as he takes to the mic at the Write Angle poetry and music evening at The Townhouse, High Street, Petersfield, on Tuesday, February 21, at 7.30pm.
He’s appeared at folk and literature festivals, cabarets, music clubs and other events across the UK, Ireland and Australia, and he’s got a California date later this year. Rob is a member of the Bodmin Folk Club where he tries out new music and lyrics.
Reviewers say: “His head is well and truly located in ‘Planet Barrett’”, “so clever it’s daft”, “mind-bending poetry” and much more.
He’s published two books of poems, prose and songs and also made many CDs.
As well as the guest performer, there is as ever an open mic for those who want to read poems or play music.
