THE HAMPSHIRE Astronomical Group will ponder the merits of getting in touch with aliens on January 10.

Martin Griffiths, whose talk is entitled The Consequences of Contact with ET, said: “We have been searching deliberately for extraterrestrial signals since the 1960s.

"Although so much thought, effort and technology has been invested in the search, little consideration has been given to the consequences of such contact and how discovering we are not alone in the universe will affect our society and culture here on Earth.”

The talk will be held in Clanfield Memorial Hall at 7.45pm. Admission for non-members is £3.
