THE CAMPAIGN to wipe out fuel poverty in Petersfield this winter is getting ever closer to its target.

The Petersfield Lions Club initiative, backed by the Post, aims to raise £5,000 by allowing people who receive a Winter Fuel Allowance payment from the Government to donate it to those more in need of the money.

As the Post went to press (Tuesday), a total of £2,950 had been donated to the campaign.
