A RARE opportunity to take a glimpse behind the scenes at the magnificent Winchester Cathedral is being offered.
See the wonderful architecture as the builders intended it, find out how its ancient manuscripts are restored, try your hand at bell ringing, watch the flower arrangers in action and much more at an open evening on Tuesday, January 26.
The event starts with Evensong by the Cathedral Choir at 5.30pm followed by the activities and displays from 6.30-8.30pm. There will also be a short recital by the Boy Choristers at 7.30pm.
Other highlights include a look at the work of the stonemasonry team, those who look after the vestments and a permanent exhibition of the life of Jane Austen, who is buried there.
