A “RELAXING and enjoyable show,” is how this year’s Alresford and District Agricultural Show was described.

Held at Tichborne Park, the popular family show last Saturday (September 3) again attracted thousands of visitors, said the show secretary, Val Watley.

She added: “Just under 100 cattle, and just over 100 sheep were shown, the trade stand pitches were fully booked, and there were 25 pens in the poultry section, and around 200 horses were entered in the equine events.

“About 15,000 visitors came along, a bit down on last year; we think it was the forecast and the late afternoon rain that put some people off.

“All in all, it was a very relaxing and enjoyable show – and we have already begun planning next year’s show.”
