THE GLORY of the sun-drenched South Downs was enjoyed by more than 6,000 people at its annual show.

An entertaining and information mix of arena events, including the Grayshott-based Stallions of Substance, sheepdog trials, stalls, eco attractions, the dogs from Downton Abbey and much more, kept the crowds happy at the weekend’s two-day South Downs Show and Hampshire Wood Fair.

Organiser Terena Plowright was keen for the visitors to get to know more about the stunning landscape on our doorstep too, to appreciate it as a place that provides food, water, tourism, natural resources and employment.

The atmosphere was amazing, she said.

“The visitors all had smiles on their faces which put smiles on our faces,” she enthused.

“The arena acts were incredible and all the stalls so interesting.”
