MORE than 3,000 people flocked to the Sustainability Centre at East Meon to enjoy this year’s South Downs Green Fair and learn about climate emergency.

With people responding to the climate emergency, the fair on Sunday, May 12, offered actions and inspiration for everyone to do their bit for the environment.

Organiser Christine Seaward said: “The festival is a family favourite with free activities, including cooking over an open fire, crafting birch buttons, medicinal herb walks, clay sculpting and new ways to re-use plastics.”

The centre’s Green Charter shows just how green the event has become with all the stalls carefully chosen for their sustainable credentials, waste was managed to minimise landfill, and only local, organic food was served.

Christine added: “The choices we make shape our world. We hope people took something away with them that will lead to changes big and small, and the Green Fair is a special event that just keeps getting better.”
