HE’S been tipped to become the mayor and could be the “celebrity” who turns on the town’s Christmas lights.

But don’t be surprised if Tigs also appears in your stocking as Petersfield’s most popular four-legged resident has now been immortalised in a charity calendar.

Copies of the Tigs charity calendar are now available with proceeds being split between the People’s Dispensary for Sick Animals (PDSA) and the King’s Arms. Rush produced by Petaprint to meet public demand, the calendar features numerous pictures of the celebrity feline in his favourite town centre haunts.

Tigs has become a social media sensation in the town with pictures of him sleeping in The Townhouse, sipping milk in Costa, getting a bite to eat in Pizza Express and mingling with revellers at The George being posted on Facebook.

Inspired by the success of the cat’s Facebook page, the originator of the calendar is Petersfield resident, Natalie Gosden.

“After all this wonderful positivity I thought it would be amazing to harness this following and produce a charity Tigs calendar,” said the FitzRoy worker.

The enduring popularity of Tigs has astounded his owner, Di Botterill, who helped compile pictures of the cat for the calendar, while services manager at the King’s Arms Mandy May is grateful for the gesture.

She said: “We’re delighted they have chosen the King’s Arms as one of the charities to benefit from the sales of the Tigs calendar. The money will enable us to continue to support many young people.”

The calendar, which is priced at £5, is available from The Townhouse, Rainbows, and many other town centre shops but they are selling quickly.
