A maligned toilet block in Petersfield town centre could soon have new owners.

Talks have begun over the possibility of EHDC transferring nine assets to Petersfield Town Council as part of local government reorganisation.

Town clerk Rochelle Halliday didn’t specify to PTC on Thursday where the sites are, but did mention “toilets” with EHDC overseeing the public WCs in central car park and St Peter’s Road.

She said: “The working group knows the sites.

“They’re quite small. They’re pieces of grass, things like verges and toilets.”

When asked about funding the acquisitions, she said: “We won’t be given any funding to take them over – we would have to put in a budget plan and put it into a precept.”
