NIGERIAN-BRITISH playwright and lawyer Tolu Agbelusi is also a performance poet with a commanding, powerful presence, and heart-felt voice that doesn’t shy away from difficult subjects.

The audience at Petersfield’s Write Angle will be able to hear why the candour of her work currently has her making waves on the London performance scene, when she appears at The Townhouse tomorrow (Tuesday).

This is a repeat visit to the town for Tolu, after an audience request.

Tolu’s confidence in performing her work produces a natural humour as well as pathos.

She is described as having a wonderful grasp of language and conveys imagery effortlessly, addressing the unperformed self, and the art of living – she’s accessible, but with profound depth.

Listed both as one of the ‘Best British Writers of Colour’ by Speaking Volumes, and long listed for the inaugural Jerwood Compton Poetry Fellowships, Tolu’s performed widely, including London’s Southbank ‘WOW Festival 2017’.

As well as the guest, there is an open mic session for other performers.

Entry is £6 on the door. Visit the website at: www.petersfieldwriteangle.co.uk
