ATTRACTIONS around Petersfield are well on track to receive more visitors as a useful facility has re-opened at the town’s railway station in time for the summer holidays.

The Travel and Tourism Information Hub which opened last Wednesday is stocked with leaflets, newsletters and details about local events and attractions.

Artwork produced by a station worker will also be on sale at the hub while a selection of hot and cold drinks can also be bought in return for a donation.

The hub, which was reopened by the East Hampshire Community Rail Partnership, will be open from 10am to 2pm every Wednesday to Sunday through to the end of September.

Building improvements will begin in October to make the facility more attractive for community groups to use out of season.

The proposals include new toilets, a more open reception area and improved lighting, wiring and heating.
