LION and Unicorn will be bringing a popular West End comedy to Petersfield’s Festival Hall stage for their spring production.

One Man, Two Guvnors, by Richard Bean, is an English adaptation of the 18th century Goldoni farce, Servant of Two Masters.

Set in Brighton in 1963, out-of-work musician Francis Henshall becomes separately employed by two men – gangster Roscoe Crabbe, and Stanley Stubbers, an upper class twit. Francis tries to keep the two from meeting, to avoid each of them learning that he is working for someone else.

This version includes a skiffle band, physical comedy, a complete sit-down meal, and an ambitious set. In the role of Francis is Ben Gander, fresh from the success of his own comedy, 2016 and All That, premiered earlier this year at Sheet.

The cast includes Steph Taylor, Glynn Williams, Tony Newton and Dom Clarke plus several newcomers to the group. It is directed by Eric Parker.

One Man, Two Guvnors will be at the Festival Hall, Heath Road, Petersfield on May 10-12 at 7.30pm with a Saturday matinee at 2.30pm. Tickets are on sale at: www.lionandunicornplayers.co.uk or One Tree Books in Lavant Street, Petersfield.
