CHURCH-goers at St Peter’s Church in Petersfield are delighted to welcome back their vicar, the Rev Canon Will Hughes, after a three-month sabbatical.

During his time away, Will practised his wood-working skills, lived in a wood for a couple of weeks, built a coracle, and visited other clergy to learn from their ministry. And as he normally works on Sundays, he has especially enjoyed spending weekends with his family.

He added: “It’s a joy to be back at St Peter’s, and I’m thankful to all those who did so much to ensure that services and pastoral care continued so wonderfully in my absence. Particular thanks go to our splendid team of retired clergy who have helped out, the Reverends Sylvia Roberts, Anthony Smyth, Andrew Stamp, and Bishop Ian Brackley.”
