POLICE are now in a position to confirm the identity of the man who died following a collision on the A31.

Bryan Webb, 58, from Alton, died at the scene following the collision on the southbound carriageway between the Chawton roundabout and Four Marks village.

His family have paid tribute to him saying: "Bryan was a greatly loved family man, taken too soon, who will be missed by so many."

Police were called to the collision at 6.52pm on Wednesday, January 13.

Two other people, a man and a woman, suffered minor injuries and were taken to hospital by ambulance.

As a result the road was closed until 2am, Thursday, January 14.

The investigation into the collision is continuing and anyone with information is asked to call the Serious Collision Investigation Unit on 101, quoting 44160019180.
