AS PART of a visit to Petersfield, a group of 19 students from Mariengymnasium, one of the oldest and most traditional Catholic gymnasium schools in Essen-Werden in Germany, visited the Festival Hall to learn about the part that Petersfield Town Council plays in providing facilities in the town.
Council office manager Stephen Field provided information on current activities and history of the council, while the then Mayor James Deane met with the students in the Council Chamber to provide further information on his and the council’s role in local government.
At the end of their tour, each student was given a flag of Petersfield, as a reminder of their visit to Petersfield Town Council. Churcher’s College has hosted the German students, who are pictured in the council chamber with?Cllr Deane, during their visit.
