THIS year’s Green Fair at the Sustainability Centre overlooking East Meon has been hailed as the best one yet by organisers.

Sunny weather, with temperatures peaking at a sweltering 25 degrees Celsius, helped attract around 3,000 visitors to Sunday’s event, said chief executive Christine Seaward.

She said: “The weather was glorious – it was a fantastic day, one of the best.

“People made the most of the sun, taking a slow stroll around the show, or just relaxing with picnics in the sunshine. It was brilliant.”

Having plenty of car parking on fields owned by farmer George Atkinson also contributed to the success of the event, as did all the hard work on the day by volunteers, added Christine.

Visitors enjoyed music, food, real ales, traditional country crafts, children’s activities, talks and many more attractions during the annual fundraiser for the centre.
