AN OPERA evening in the garden at Rotherfield Park has raised more than £5,000 for charity.

More than 400 people picniced in the sunshine in the Kim Wilkie-designed garden on the longest day of the year before watching Pop-up Opera perform The Italian Girl in Algiers.

Pop-up Opera, a young opera company, put their own distinctive twist on Rossini's classic.

The Empshott Hut fundraising committee expressed its thanks to the Scott family, who own the Rotherfield Park estate, for their help in staging the evening....
