LIPHOOK Carnival supporters are invited to get lost, in the nicest possible way, by joining the Liphook Carnival walk on a journey into the countryside on Sunday.
It is a good way of blowing away the cobwebs, revitalising the senses and discovering natural landscapes close at hand.
Not only that, the day will help raise much-needed funds to cover the running costs of the carnival.
The walk has different routes each year to keep it interesting, and this makes it a good way to explore the countryside.
This year there are three circular routes to choose from, approximately three-and-a-half, nine and 11-and-a-half miles, which all start and finish at The Deer’s Hut pub.
Walkers will depart from the Deer’s Hut at 9.45am on Sunday.
Registration opens at 9am in the pavilion at the back.
Entry is £6 per adult and £3 for under-16s, or it is free for under six-year-olds and if a sponsorship amount has been raised which is over the entry fee.
A prize for the highest sponsorship obtained will be announced on the day.
The Deer’s Hut will be catering with bacon butties, tea and coffee available before the walk in exchange for a donation, with all proceeds going to the Liphook Carnival, and lunches are available afterwards but everyone is strongly recommended to book in advance to avoid disappointment.
Stout walking boots are recommended to avoid injuries and dogs are welcome on the walk.
Last year just over 40 walkers attended the event and raised approximately £430. It is hoped that there will be an even better turnout this year.
