A hospice at home charity has thanked well-wishers for their wheely amazing work following a £4,000 fundraising Tour De Force at a Lindford pub.
People who took part in a 24-hour indoor cycle ride at the Royal Exchange deserve a royal pat on the back having raised the sum for The Rosemary Foundation.
Cllr Andy Tree got the wheels spinning at 2pm last Friday by getting on his exercise bike for the first 30-minute slot.
Brian Wood reached the finish line amid beers, cheers and tears at the same time on Saturday with the crowd counting down the final few seconds of the MC’s two-hour ride.
Melody Care Alton holds an Over 60s coffee morning at the Royal Exchange on the last Wednesday of the month and works closely with the Rosemary Foundation.
The care provider and pub loved the idea of a 24-hour bike ride with the Woolmer Forest Lions donating £250 and a charity auction on the night raising £1,350.
Pub duo Amy Pieri and Chloe King kept riders fed and hydrated throughout the night with their 6am bacon rolls going down a treat. Funds from the auction and donations came to £3,313 with Melody Care, which provides domiciliary home care services in the Alton and Bordon area, rounding it up to £4,000.

“We were blown away by people’s generosity – everyone was so friendly and wanted to give,” said branch manager, Lou Driver.
“We are definitely in talks with the Royal Exchange about making it an annual thin but obviously we’ve got to raise the bar, now.”
“It was such a good event,” said Chloe, who also hopes the 24-hour ride can become an annual event.
“We had a couple of people in the pub that kept us going but it shows how everyone came together.”
