MEERKATS, music, stalls, food and fine weather ensured this year’s Spring Festival in Petersfield town centre was a huge success, said organisers.

Ben Errey, of the Petersfield Festivals team, said: “It was fantastic, it went really well, and we think there were more visitors than ever.

“All the bands in The Square were great, but the Komaros were outstanding.”

The four-piece play classic tunes from the 1960s up to the present day. One enthusiastic fan said: “They nailed it.”

On Monday, a youth string orchestra, playing among other tunes the theme of the hit TV series Game of Thrones, went down a storm.

On the streets, the variety of attractions, including a petting zoo with meerkats, and stalls selling a variety of goods, ranging from wicker baskets to paella, tempted the families enjoying the sun shine during the three-day festival.

Ben added: “In previous year’s the Mondays of the festival were wet, but this year it was dry and fine, and the festival was very busy for all three days.”
