THE Petersfield U3A Wine Appreciation Group members enjoyed a fabulous day out to visit Hambledon Vineyard and Winery.
Hosted by a very knowledgeable guide, they toured vines dripping with Chardonnet grapes, then went round the winery itself, seeing the presses, vast stainless-steel vats and oak casks as well as bottles of rosé sparkling wine having their final fermentation.
They ended the tour with a lovely tasting of their award-winning sparkling wine, followed by a picnic within the vines, and were so lucky with the weather.
They are a very social group and meet every month for various activities, all for the love of wine.
