A WOMAN has been airlifted to hospital following a serious road traffic incident involving a car and a coach near Petersfield.

The collision took place at 7.55am this morning on the A272 between Petersfield and Rogate in the Durleigh Abbey Barn area, described by police as near Habin Hill in Rogate.

The woman was driving a Ford Focus car at the time of the incident and the coach, which belongs to a Midhurst-based coach company, is believed to have been on its way to Churcher’s College in Petersfield.

No students were injured in the incident.

The air ambulance was called in to airlift the woman to hospital.

The road is expected to remain closed until this afternoon.
