IT’S understood the woman driver of the car involved in a collision with a coach carrying pupils from a Petersfield school has suffered serious leg injuries.

She was airlifted by air ambulance to hospital after the collision on the A272 at 8am this morning between Petersfield and Rogate, near Habin Hill say police.

She was driving a Ford Focus, which was in collision with a coach from Richardsons Coaches of Midhurst, which was taking pupils to Churcher's College. None of the pupils were injured and all were soon in their classes as normal after the incident, said headteachers Sam Williams.

A police spokesman said the driver of the Ford Focus appears to have suffered injuries, although it is not clear at the moment what they are, and was airlifted to hospital.The road is expected to remain closed till the afternoon.
