A PETERSFIELD running club for woman will mark Make May Purple, the Stroke Associations’ annual stroke awareness month, with a 5k run on Petersfield Heath.
The race on Saturday, May 21, will start from the Plump Duck Cafe at 8.30am -which is opening early for the occasion - and take runners past the cricket pitch and old golf course, before finishing near the start.
The runnyhunnys running club hosted a similar event last year, and due to its popularity all 100 places in the race this month have been taken.
There are prize catergories for men, women and children as well as spot prizes, and the club would urge those not lucky enough to get a place in the race to come along and support the amazing cause and those running for it, said spokesman Sue Browne.
She added: “Several runnyhoneys have very good reasons for supporting the Stroke Association. They’re a fantastic charity which works so hard to help those affected by stroke. We will divide all funds raised from the run equally between The Stroke Association and the Stroke Association’s Petersfield Stroke Group.”

The Stroke Association is calling on everyone to sign up to Make May Purple in 2016. The charity is raising awareness of the impact of stroke, and sharing information and advice on how to help prevent the condition.
