More than a dozen anglers will draw the line this weekend in an epic charity event at Petersfield Heath Pond.

The Fishing Bailiff Team will host a 24-hour charity fishing competition at the beauty spot this Saturday (May 17).

The baiting game will begin at midday with 16 anglers each donating £25 to enter the competition in aid of Petersfield Armed Forces Drop-In Centre.

Well-wishers or people with questions about the competition or fishing at the pond can find the bailiffs and their donation tins close to the Plump Duck Café.

More aquatic adventures can be had in East Meon on the same day as a fundraising event in aid of the primary school and its PTA is taking place in the village.

Registration for The Great East Meon Boat Race will begin at 11.30am with the first race at 1pm. The ‘Duck Dump’ is scheduled for 2.15pm with a prize-giving ceremony half an hour later.
