A WRESTLING show in Petersfield Festival Hall will be dedicated to a much-loved fan who died following an accident.
The Main Event Megastars team will pay tribute to Elaine Billington on April 16 as the 70-year-old was a ban of Petersfield wrestler Katy ‘Astrid’ Bishop, having seen her in her ring last year.
Mrs Billington, who was an ever-present at Katy’s spin class in the Taro Centre, was keen to watch Astrid’s second show in Petersfield but died following an accident at the Swan Street crossroads on January 9.
A retiring collection in aid of Crews Bereavement Care, where Elaine helped out, will also take place at the show, but it’s not about the money according to Katy.
She said: “She was a lovely lady, always at my classes without fail at the back with a smile on her face, doing her thing. We wanted to put on a show in her memory and have a collection. It’s not about how much money we raise, it’s about honouring her.”
