It was a beautiful sunny day and all the pupils at the school joined together to celebrate the Queen’s birthday in the sensory garden by singing happy birthday and a rousing rendition of the national anthem.
It was celebrations all round in reception class on the occasion of the Queen’s 90th birthday.
last Thursday morning, the children excitedly arrived carrying their prettiest party dresses and most handsome attire to wear at the afternoon tea party to celebrate the Queen’s special day.
After a busy morning learning to bake scones and an equally busy afternoon making cucumber sandwiches, the tables were adorned with the finest linen, beautiful red, white and blue flowers and balloons too.
Finally it was time to sit down to tea, donning Union Jack hats and raising a glass of fizzy lemonade in fun flutes.
Everyone sang a cheery happy birthday to the monarch before enjoying a delicious tea.
