THE CROSSOVER Youth Centre threw open its doors to the community on Saturday.
The youth centre held an open day to raise awareness of its new premises at the old St Mary’s Church Hall on Station Road.
Youth centre manager and youth worker Georgina Leigh was delighted with the success of the day.
“It went really well,” said Georgina.

Plans submitted for 30 new homes in Liss - but where's the affordable housing?“We had about 30 people in and we had families here and members of Liss Parish Council.
“Police community support officer (PCSO) John Payne also came along and we talked about local issues and how we can liaise with him.”
The event was also a chance for the Crossover to show off its new home, after moving in in February from their old premises at 71 Station Road.
Georgina said: “People got to see the new building and seemed to be impressed, and they were pleased that we’ve found a nice new home.
“We also had our information out about how to volunteer and how to donate.
“We are always looking for more volunteers – even if they can only help out for two hours a month.”
After the open day, a private event was held in the evening for all of the Crossover’s donors.
“The donors got to come in and see where their money is going,” said Georgina.
“They also spoke to the trustees and were impressed with the new building.”
The Crossover will soon be starting its new timetable for the summer holidays, which will include tennis sessions at Newman Collard Tennis Club from 4.30pm to 6pm on Mondays.
“We would like to thank Newman Collard Tennis Club for letting us use the courts,” said Georgina.
