Police have vowed to continue patrols at a Bordon shopping centre as concerns mount about anti-social behaviour and possible knife crime.

A youth suspected of carrying a knife was stop-searched at the Forest Centre last Friday evening by police, with thankfully no weapon being found.

Officers also confiscated alcohol from underage drinkers and dispersed a group of youths causing anti-social behaviour.

“We understand that groups gathering can sometimes cause concern for local residents,” said a spokesperson for Longmoor police.

“We’ll continue to carry out regular patrols in the area to keep our community safe and reassure those who live and work nearby.”

Anyone who witnesses anti-social behaviour or who has information about people carrying weapons should call 101 or 999 in an emergency.
