Forest Care’s dedicated and award‑winning activity teams place resident wellbeing at the heart of everything they do. Across their Surrey and Hampshire homes, they organise a wide range of meaningful, joyful group, individual and one‑to‑one activities and experiences. Every activity is shaped around residents’ daily wishes, cultural interests and personal life stories, reflecting Forest Care’s strong commitment to person‑centred care. Families are also involved in care and activity planning to help the team understand what truly matters to each resident - their favourite pastimes, hobbies and preferences, so activities can be tailored just for them.

As proud members of the National Activity Provider Association (NAPA), a leading charity for activity and engagement, Forest Care continues to champion high-quality, meaningful experiences for older adults.
Residents enjoy an impressive variety of activities, including cultural celebrations, classic car shows, themed tea parties and special dining events, floristry workshops, wildlife talks, arts and crafts, beauty sessions, outdoor games, exercise classes, trips to local attractions, and engaging live entertainment - from tap and jive dancers to harpists, accordionists, Motown singers and tribute acts. Much-loved animal visits have included alpacas, Shetland ponies, monkeys and even penguins. Community outreach and intergenerational activities with local nurseries and schools are also an important part of life at Forest Care.

Recently, Cedar Lodge welcomed two cheeky squirrel monkeys, Gracie and Sharkie, who brought plenty of laughter and excitement. Residents were thrilled as the playful pair perched on shoulders (and even a few heads!) while everyone enjoyed learning about them and asking questions. The monkeys even visited residents in their rooms, making the experience extra special.
Holly Lodge played host to Pringle and Widget, two friendly Humboldt penguins whose charming waddle, gentle nature, and cuddly interactions created a truly memorable day.
At Oak Lodge, residents had an unforgettable hands‑on session with ZooLab, getting up close to exotic creatures such as giant snails, snakes and mice - an experience that sparked curiosity and delight.
