Aldershot & Farnham (A&F) Hockey Club’s ladies’ first team won 3-2 at home to Guildford’s second team to head into the Christmas break in style.
The game started at a high intensity with significant pressure on the A&F defence.
The home side then won a penalty corner, and a Guildford foot on the goalline led to a penalty stroke for A&F. Phoebe Bryant stepped up and calmly slotted the ball into the goal to give the Shots the lead.
Guildford came out strongly at the start of the second half and soon equalised. The Shots regained their lead when Tammy Cherry won a penalty corner, which was neatly tucked in by Sophie Edwards on the right post.
Guildford responded well and scrambled the ball over the line to make it 2-2. Edwards scored the winner when she put the ball through the narrowest of gaps.
