THERE IS no television or touch screens this half-term for young swimmers at Alton and District Swimming Club.

They have gone to Barcelona for a week’s training camp, building stamina and technique in time for the gruelling winter competition season. Under the watchful eyes of head coach Rob Thuroczy and team manager Hannah Druce they are starting their days early with outdoor training in an Olympic standard 50m pool. Circuit training is after lunch, then it is back to the pool for more dives and tumble turns.
