Bordon teenager Mylee Hedges has returned home from Berlin after winning 11 titles and a bronze medal at the European International Martial Arts Games.

The 17-year-old, who lives in Bordon and trains at Inner Strength Martial Arts Academy and MB Martial Arts in Bournemouth, as well as the South Downs Taekwondo club, represented the Great Britain Martial Arts Team at the European International Martial Arts Games.

The competition follows what has already been an incredible year for Hedges. At the end of last year, she travelled to the World Martial Arts Games in Norway, where she achieved numerous World Championship medals and was named the most decorated athlete at the event.

With that success behind her, Hedges headed to Berlin ready for another busy competition. She competed in 12 different categories, covering kata, weapons, and fighting events, and came away with 11 gold medals and a bronze.

Her gold medals came in individual kata, individual kata flags, Korean forms, creative weapons, musical creative weapons, creative kata, musical creative kata, team kata, kumite, point sparring, and team sparring.

Despite having so many of her own events to prepare for, Hedges still made time to referee and coach other members of the Great Britain team. She was constantly helping team-mates, giving advice, encouraging them, and making sure they were ready for their own events.

Following her latest success, Hedges thanked her coaches Mike Bushell and Sean Launham for their support. She also thanked her Great Britain coaches Chris Hemstock, Harri Peck, Andy Thompson, Harry Smith, Dan Cooke, Amy Hayes and Roy Hayes for the time and effort they put into supporting her and the whole team.

From being the most decorated athlete at the World Martial Arts Games in Norway to returning from Berlin as an 11-time European champion, Hedges continues to impress.
