IN THE absence of the skipper Damian Carson, brother Dominic took charge of a one-sided affair at the heath.

Batting first on a dry, hot day was an easy decision for Carson but the wicket would still prove helpful to the bowlers as the pitch wore.

The Petersfield side had a youthful look to it, with the combined ages of the openers totalling 33.

Alex Thomas made an assured 22 before being caught at square leg in the 21st over but his 15-year-old partner Gabe Broadhurst was more fluent and stole the show....
