The first half was an even contest, although Alton scored a couple of goals to lead 3-1 at half time.

Early in the second half there was a distinct air that Petersfield were taking control of the tempo and direction of the game. This was rewarded with a perfectly executed short corner; Fleck hammering home his first goal from a well-practiced set piece to make it 3-2. With team confidence growing Chung found the back of the goal again to level the score at 3-3.

However, against the run of play, Petersfield found themselves on the back foot and defending against a short corner which Alton converted to take the lead 4-3. Petersfield kept their heads and mounted their attacks. A good team effort gave Chung his hat-trick to level the scores again at 4-4.
