BACK in May last year, Clanfield Football Club, under the guidance of club secretary Colin Harris, decided to set up its third girls-only team, with its under-11 squad.

The girls started their first season in September with a hand-me-down kit, but now, thanks to sponsorship from business Outside Cleaning Window Cleaning Services, the team have a new kit and tracksuit tops.

Richard and Polly Harvey from Outside Cleaning Window Cleaning Services said: “We are delighted to be able to sponsor the girls’ under-11 football team at Clanfield, and wish them every success during the coming seasons.”

The pioneering under-11 girls are having a good season.

They reached the Winchester and District Girls’ League Under-11 Plate Final, with a thumping victory over Southampton 7-1 in the semi final.

The team will play in the final in May.
