Petersfield under-15s 45 Haslemere under-15s 12: PETERSFIELD under-15s opened their 2015/16 campaign with a comprehensive win against a weakened Haslemere side.

Despite having a few players missing themselves, Petersfield dominated the opening 20 minutes playing some sublime rugby as backs and forwards mixed up to exploit the spaces in Haslemere’s defence.

An early try from Matthews settled the nerves and the pack dominated the breakdown with Cox and Cummings to the fore.

Land helped himself to a try with an outrageous dummy and a fine forward driving maul allowed Janku to go over.

Field were strong in the scrum where Currie and Conner propped and Hickman and Ifay worked well around the field in all areas.

Fine support play from Dodds on the flank saw recycled ball to Tribe who touched down and this was added to as Janku and Matthews combined for a burst up three quarters of the park, before Janku crashed over.

Throughout Chads kept the back supplied with good ball and Cox and Cummings ensured a physical edge to Field’s play.

Further tries for Matthews (two) and Land ensured Field stayed on top, with Haslemere scoring two late tries – just reward for their efforts.
